Empathic environments

Most people spend close to 70% of their time indoors. Technology enables us to personalise the spaces we live and work in. Improving the quality and experience of indoor spaces means improving people’s health and wellbeing, as well as their quality of life.

For the interior scale UNSense has developed the concept of ‘Empathic Environments’. Empathic Environments are spaces that fully understand a user’s preferences, needs and emotions. By combining a sensitive approach to design with sensory hardware and responsive software we can create buildings and rooms that adapt to and predict each user’s individual needs.

Tracking and analysing user behaviour enables us to recognise patterns that lay the foundations for predictive personalisation of the local environment and guidance for adaptations to the environment that raise its efficiency. The result is trustworthy, healthy and safe places to live and work that are continuously upgradable and updatable.
